Yes, you read that right. Nintendo, Mojang and Microsoft are teaming up to bring your favorite Italian plumber and all of his Mushroom Kingdom friends to the world of Minecraft. This will be a free update for the Wii U version of Minecraft for both the digital download and the physical edition which will be coming out on June 17th.
Upon downloading the update, players will gain access to new skins, a Super Mario themed pre-made world and a set of themed music and textures. “Both the Super Mario franchise and Minecraft embrace the magic of exploration and discovery,” said Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s Vice President of Publisher & Developer Relations. “Players will have a great time adventuring and creating in this free game update that embraces the unique and memorable elements of both franchises.”
The Super Mario update for Minecraft on Wii U will be available on may 17th for free and it will be pre-loaded on the physical edition that arrives in stores on June 17th.
