The Force is strong with Stig Asmussen.
Today of all days is the perfect time to announce that the famed studio Respawn Entertainment will be officially working on a new Star Wars game. Stig Asmussen, game director at Respawn and former lead designer on God of War III, took to the company blog today to talk about this huge announcement.
“We promise to pay respect to the Star Wars legacy at all times, a fact that will be constantly reinforced and honored as a central game design tenet. Fans should expect the exemplary level of quality first established at Respawn with Titanfall, a game that epitomizes our studio’s dedication to slick, larger-than-life action and fun, groundbreaking mechanics.” He then went on to talk a bit about why he is so excited for this project. “I have been playing Star Wars games my whole life, now I get to make a Star Wars game. On top of that, I get to do it at Respawn, a studio comprised of the most talented collection of game makers, creators, visionaries, and (most importantly) advocates for the player, that I have had the good fortune to work with. And we, like you all, have no shortage of Star Wars passion.”
Unfortunately there aren’t any real details other than that it will be a multi platform, 3rd person shooter based in the expansive Star Wars universe. But either way, I guarantee this is the type of thing that Star Wars fans are always looking forward to on this day. I mean, can we ever really have too many Star Wars games? So enjoy your day and may the Force be with you!
