New Releases: Far From Home

Hi there guys, Gavin here again with your New Releases for the week of May 16th. We’ve got puzzles, an RPG, and of course a shooter for you this week, so let’s get going!

1

Starting this week for us is Homefront: The Revolution. Releasing May 17th for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, the game is a sequel to the original Homefront that released back in 2011. The story is centered around starting and supporting a revolution in a dystopian America. Of particular note is the inclusion of both a gun modification system that works on the fly during a mission and a new co-op mode.

If you’re looking for something to tide you over between FarCry games because you miss their gunplay, this game is for you. The trailer is below if you’re looking for the lowdown.

Next up we’ve got Fallout 4: Far Harbor DLC, coming out on May 19th for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 and features a new story line involving Nick Valentine and a huge landmass to explore. Being toted as the largest new area to explore in any Bethesda addon, the DLC offers a great chance to explore and lose yourself in the world all over again. With new weapons, new places, new characters and new enemies, what’s not to love? Have a look at the trailer below.

Lastly we’ve got Soft Body, an action/puzzle game coming out on May 17th for PC/Mac, PS4, and Vita that fuses Snake with bullet hell mechanics.

Half the challenge seems to be attempting to control two snakes individually at the same time, but the trance-like soundtrack seems to evoke a pretty meditative experience. It’s got lots of twitchy gameplay and a catchy soundtrack, which seems promising for killing time on your lunch break or a bus ride (especially with the Vita version). If you’re one of the 12 people who own a Vita or someone looking to zone out at their desk, give the game a look! You’ll find a trailer below.

Alright guys, that’s it for this week! As always, I’ll be back next week with more but until then tell me: What game have you logged the most hours in and why?
