Clinging To The Edge Of Extinction In ARKTIKA.1

Do you like visiting the scenic wasteland of mutant occupied post-apocalyptic Russia, but are too claustrophobic for the Metro? Well 4A Games has still got you covered in their newly announced game, ARKTIKA.1, which not only has all of the fast paced FPS action you’ve come to love from their previous games Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, but is designed from the ground up for VR exclusively on the Oculus Touch.

A hundred years into the future, global catastrophe has plunged humanity into a new ice age. Mankind has been driven from their seats of power in the hemispheres, forced to migrate towards the equator where temperatures are still habitable. Unwilling to cede control of their remaining caches of natural resources, small pockets of civilization remain to defend their strategic assets against the desperate attacks of raiders. It is up to you to defend your struggling settlement in the remains of old Russia, against the raids of marauders and the vicious attacks of strange new creatures that prey upon the vestiges of man.

“At 4A Games, we pride ourselves on our ability to make immersive experiences, so creating ARKTIKA.1, a big, atmospheric VR shooter made a lot of sense,” said Andriy Prokhorov, co-founder and creative director at 4A Games. “ARKTIKA.1 is a full-blown ААА title, and we’re employing all of our accumulated experience making high-quality shooters, and also using a lot of new opportunities provided only by VR. Oculus has allowed us to take the immersion to a whole new level, and it would have been a shame to miss such an opportunity.” ARKTIKA.1 will be released in Q2 2017, exclusively for Oculus Touch.
