A Pokemon Fan Game Nine Years In The Making Is Out Now

31012-1

After a long development period of nine years with few updates, the long awaited fan project Pokémon Uranium is out!

The game sports some innovative features such as the new uranium type Pokémon, a 30+ hour story, nuzlocke mode, over 150 new Pokémon, a tropical theme, and my personal favorite: multiple save files! In addition to mechanical changes to the game it also supports online battles and trading, making this probably one of the most impressive Pokémon fan projects to date. If you’ve been looking to scratch that Pokémon itch while waiting for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon this might just be what you’re looking for. Below you’ll find the release announcement trailer, give it a look.

Whether or not this project gets a takedown notice from Nintendo is anyone’s guess, but if you grab it now via its website you’re safe for the time to come.
You can grab the game here absolutely free for PC, with Mac and Linux versions in the works.
