Alright, now that I’ve regrouped and gathered myself after losing my literal shit, I am proud to let you all know that XCOM 2 is officially happening this November.
We kind of had a tease earlier last week from 2K when they tweeted about Advent, which lead to a cryptic website, AdventFuture.org. There, you’d find information about a near-future utopia led by a government called “The Advent Administration”. A little further into the week, ‘hackers’ got into the website and revealed its not exactly what it seems, even with Advent offering better life for citizens through genetic enhancements. To be completely honest I wasn’t expecting this. I am beyond excited, November cannot come soon enough!
The trailer reveals a lot, showing us that the aliens do have a grip on humanity with “gene therapy clinics”. We also notice in the trailer the weaponry that is used, humans again have laser weapons vs. the aliens’ heavy armour and plasma. I can also conclude the Rattlesnake guy and giant sectoid are most likely products of this gene therapy clinic.
So until we get more information about XCOM 2, here’s my guess for the game’s title: XCOM 2: Advent Rising.
