Open Beta For Black Desert Coming to Xbox One

Beta Release of Black Desert on Xbox One Planned for Fall 2018

Jul. 3, 2018 – Pearl Abyss, the successful Korean development studio, announced at E3 this year that their open world action MMORPG, Black Desert, will be launching on Xbox One and will be available to play via a beta release later this Fall. Initially premiered during Microsoft’s Xbox E3 2018 press conference, Black Desert on Xbox One was playable for attendees at Pearl Abyss’s inaugural ‘Into The Abyss’ event at the Regal Cinema LA Live Stadium on Wednesday, June 13th in Los Angeles. A community event that included content creators, industry writers, and VIP guests such as 13 Reasons Why star Devin Druid, ‘Into The Abyss’ provided Pearl Abyss with their first ever public engagement with fans of their popular MMO title.

One of the most popular MMORPGs worldwide in recent years with over 9 million registered users worldwide on the PC platform, Black Desert boasts next-generation visuals and skill-based combat along with unprecedented detail in character creation. Redesigned for the Xbox One, the newest version of Black Desert will feature original content, remastered graphics and audio as well as optimized UI specially made for console action. The game’s beautifully designed world and extensive lore will be sure to captivate both newcomers and veterans of the MMO and action RPG genre.

With over 500 community, industry and celebrity attendees at the three-hour ‘Into The Abyss’ event, Pearl Abyss executives led an engaging conference-style show. Event attendees were treated to an 8-minute demo video and discussion of the upcoming Xbox release, followed by a speech by Pearl Abyss CEO Robin Jung and panel discussion by executive producers delving into their experience building Black Desert for multiple platforms. To conclude the event, Pearl Abyss held an after-party to allow attendees to mingle with Pearl Abyss developers and executives as they enjoyed access to Black Desert on Xbox One via numerous demo stations.
