July 6, 2018 – After fifteen years of navigating the MMO oceans, the makers of Puzzle Pirates have launched their latest edition, Dark Seas, out of early access. This server represents a new take on an old MMO favorite with a decidedly PvP focus.
The developer, Grey Havens, announced last week that Dark Seas is ready for full launch on Steam.
“The goal for Dark Seas is to introduce an entirely new ocean with the same beloved mechanics,” the team explained, “a volatile new place full of danger and unexplored frontiers.”
“Pirates will begin their journey in Port Venture of the Greywaters archipelago, a relatively safe place to develop your sea legs before venturing further out into the Obsidian ocean.”
Dark seas will still contain all the elements that have inspired swashbucklers for over a decade, but with the addition of dynamic pvp twists and turns for pirates to navigate. Players can create and customize a pirate, collect booty, join a player-run crew of cutthroats, and risk it all for the glory of their faction. Every activity in Puzzle Pirates is a uniquely fun puzzle: be it sailing, crafting, fighting, or hauling treasure. A player’s own puzzling skill determines their success.
This is the first major release for the crew at Grey Havens, the new independent game studio manned by former Three Rings employees.
“Brace yerself fer piratey puzzle action as ye pillage yer way to glory across the Dark Seas.”
