What do you get when you mix the brutal turn based tactics of XCOM with the grit and dust of the old west? You end up with the game Hard West, from developers Creative Forge Games.
Creative Forge Games describes the game as follows: In Hard West, you play as Warren, a man left for dead, only to come back and seek bloody vengeance on those who have wronged him. The path will not be an easy one though as Warren will have to make some tough choices and deal with the inevitable outcomes of those decisions. Warren will also have to fight his way through henchmen, cultists, cannibals, and supernatural powered bosses on his path to ultimate vengeance.
Hard West, at its core, is a turn based tactical RPG in the same vein as the XCOM series. The player will be taken on a dark and strange wild-west adventure through 8 story based scenarios that take place over more than 40 different missions. Warren will also meet a unique cast of characters that can be used for the 1-4 person squad based combat.
Creative Forge says they’ve introduced many innovative elements in the level design to make combat more dynamic. For instance, players can use the sun to their advantage, as hiding enemies will cast shadows, giving away their position. Players will also be able to use almost anything in the environment as cover thanks to the dynamic cover system in the game. And, players will also be able to use a ricochet ability to hit targets behind cover.
