Spellbind Studios will be releasing Rogue Wizards on PC.
Rogue Wizards is a rogue-like dungeon crawler with turn-based combat. The game puts players in the role of the titular wizards as they dive deep into twisting procedurally generated dungeons. The game also features a town building mechanic. When players save NPCs from the dungeons, they move into the Wizard’s Sanctuary, where they will set up shops where players can purchase weapons and magic. Apparently, if you sell enough loot from the dungeons to the shops, they will lower their prices and possibly give you free stuff. I love free stuff!
Rogue Wizards point of view and gameplay loop remind me of the Mystery Dungeon series (Pokemon, Shiren The Wanderer). Rogue-likes have become incredibly popular among indie developers, with notable titles like The Binding of Isaac and Rogue Legacy. The best rogue-like games tend to have unique mechanics and incredibly fascinating items. I’m curious to see how Rogue Wizards measures up. The game is set to be released on September 27th, 2016.
