Pardon me while I lose my mind and travel back to 1998. Nintendo has turned on God Mode and destroyed the world as we know it digitally. That’s right: we’re getting our much-beloved classics Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow, back on the eStore.
Needless to say, words and shrieks that my neighbors are now pounding the floor over for noise complaints cannot explain my sheer excitement as it’s been announced that we can relive the story that started it all next February.
Details are scarce at the moment, as this has simply been announced. The timing is just right to help Pokémon fans get hyped and ready for Pokémon GO.
Players will have the ability to trade and battle Pokémon wirelessly (which was never possible in the original game), ditching the need for the specialized link-cable.
Official launch for the remakes is slated for February 28, 2016.
