Hello Internet! Here are some of the things that caught my Eye this week.
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.
I will be the first to say that before Ghost Protocol, I was done with the M:I series as a whole. But I was happy with the Brad Bird revamp, I liked the direction that it was taken and this trailer looks like it is following suit. I am still skeptical that it will make a massive amount of money, but if nothing else it will be a good action movie. The team that they developed in Ghost Protocol seems to have gelled and we are in for an interesting ride.

Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser
Personally, I have never been a fan of David Spade. I know that a lot of people liked the first movie, and the excitement from some of my friends made me feel like this was worth a share. Let me know what you think of it down in the comments.
Machinima released the trailer for their new series “Justice League: Gods and Monsters“. I really liked this trailer, it looks like a really new take on the big 3.
On to movie and TV news:
James Wan (Furious 7, The Conjuring) has been announced as the director for Aquaman. It’s really early for the 2018 release to have lined up a director, but I feel like after his work on Furious 7 the world may be ready to see him as an action director. Wan is also rumored to be in talks to direct the Robotech movie in Japan, no word on production dates for that movie. Hopefully this doesn’t end up like Wonder Woman and have them lose their director because of project conflicts.
Sony and Marvel are still apparently in talks with numerous actors and are working through screen testing for Spider-Man. To be honest, I believe that it is all a smoke show. They have quite likely cast their Spider-Man already, and all of the other actors are in testing to play Harry Osborne. If the rumors are true, they want to have Spidey in Civil War. That movie is already shooting, so they will need to have him selected and prepped and on set in a few weeks. This is a monumental task for anyone, and yet they need to do it. The rumored working title is “Spider-Man, The Next Avenger”. If this is to be believed, they need to get him into a film and tie him into this series as soon as possible.
Some other news regarding Spidey indicate that there are multiple references to Oscorp and Norman Osborne in the Ant-Man movie. This has led people to believe that there may be a stinger/post credit scene with Spidey in it. This is a hard pill to swallow. The film is done, wrapped, and ready to be shipped. To add something to it now may not happen.
Fox is looking to continue the “24” franchise revolving around a new protagonist. Kiefer Sutherland is still going to be on board as a guest star but has no interest in returning to a full time TV production schedule. This could be the launch of a long running series with possibly floating male leads for Fox, if the audience numbers support it.
Nick Fury is not going to make an appearance in Captain America: Civil War. At first, you may ask why. But if you think of it from a numbers game, the amount of heroes and stars they are pulling in to this single movie is outstanding(it’s essentially Avengers 2.5). To add one more may push the limit too far. Secondly, Sam Jackson was signed for a 9 picture deal, he has appeared in 7 pictures thus far and you can guarantee that he will be in both of the upcoming avengers films. This means that they would need to extend his contract to have him in anything else. You can bet your sweet patootie that the contract extension would be costly, and as such they may not want to do it.
Star Trek: Beyond director Justin Lin (Fast 5/6) has been eerily silent up until now, but has spoken out regarding the direction that they are taking the rebooted series. The movie is going to take place at the beginning of the famous 5 year mission. A mandate for the film is to explore something new and beyond the established species and events in the univers. It looks like Justin Lin is actually going to take them somewhere they haven’t been before….
And Lastly…. This happened.
Now, I don’t read the comic currently. It is on my list of things to pick up. However, I would venture a guess at 2 things. She is either a crazy person obsessed with Han or it was a shotgun wedding after he lost a card game. Considering Han is known to be a gambling man (he won the Falcon that way), he might have made the wrong bet.

Tired of your mini figures slipping around the table while you are trying to play? Boom, Problem Solved! This looks like it would be pretty cool and the backer pricing is actually not very bad considering the cost of custom printing, let alone custom printing on heavier materials.
